Goal
“To create a home maintenance scheduler that will help users keep track of all the appliances they have. Keeping them up to date on maintenance and giving options on how to tackle the upkeep.”
Our Approach
We looked into what were ways to make it easy to understand and not feel overwhelming
- Simple and easy to read layout and icons
- Simplified states of items and minimal words
- Easy a quick to get started for all age ranges
We looked at different approaches and found that a scheduler that gave updates along with solution to the issue right then and there was the most effective method
Mockups / sketches
After fleshing out the idea we began simplifying a layout that would be easy to read and understand for anyone
Style Tile
We wanted to have none harsh colors but go with the theme of honey. Something easy on the eyes but still eye catching.
Hifi Prototype
We started to create a more final version of the application. One that allowed for easy navigation and scheduling for our users. Easy to understand what they were looking at and what each icon did.
Final Design
It was important to test and allow multiple users to undergo the Prototype without outside influence. We found it was a very helpful application that many will use but needed a more solidified solution feature that was explained.
